RUG CLEANING & CARE
We recommend light vacuuming and occasionally hanging your rug outside in the sunshine for some fresh air. For small spills and stains spot cleaning can be done straight away with mild soapy water. For tougher stains we recommend to use a professional rug cleaning service that specializes in woolen carpets.

OUR STORY
After our family road trip through Morocco in summer 2024 we felt truly inspired by the country's vibrant culture, kindness and colors...

Origin
Authentically handwoven by women in the Atlas Mountains, our Moroccan rugs reflect centuries of tradition and culture. Each rug is a unique piece of heritage, bringing warmth, style, comfort and a story of craftsmanship beneath your feet.

Tradition
Berber rugs from Morocco’s Atlas Mountains are renowned for their rich heritage and craftsmanship. Woven by women for centuries, these rugs carry deep cultural significance, often telling stories through patterns and symbols passed down through generations. Made from 100% natural sheep wool, each rug is handwoven using time-honored techniques, ensuring both durability and uniqueness.

Craftsmanship
The production process is entirely manual, from shearing sheep to spinning wool, and dyeing the fibers using natural pigments from local plants. Every rug is woven entirely by hand and then washed and sun-dried in the mountain air. This attention to detail guarantees the exceptional quality and authenticity that make our rugs a timeless pieces of art.

FAQ
How do I know what rug size I need?
Don't worry, we have all the information you need regarding choosing the perfect rug size for your space right here:
Choosing the right rug size is essential to creating a harmonious and well-balanced space. We are here to help you find the perfect size to complement your home.
There are not hard-set rules in terms of the perfect relation of room and rug size. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference and what suits best your unique space.
General Tips
The larger the room, the larger the rug. It grounds the space and creates more cosiness.
Smaller rooms often benefit from smaller rugs to make the rooms feel larger.
It is recommended that a rug should leave at least 10-20cm gap between the edge of the rug and the wall, so that there is a visible strip of flooring to help frame the space.
Furniture legs can either sit on or off the rug.
Design Tip
Measure your room to have a general idea of the size you wan to style. Place your furniture in the correct position and map out your preferred rug dimensions on your floor with painter’s tape and a measuring tape. This way you can see what dimensions will work best in your space and with your furniture.
Is there a showroom I can visit to choose my rug?

How do I care and clean my rug?
Vacuum Regularly
We recommend regular light vacuuming to remove dust and dirt from your rug. Use your vacuum on a light setting to avoid any damage of the pile. A good quality vacuum cleaner is recommended and we suggest avoiding powerful vacuums or power heads.
Clean Spills & Spot Immediately
For everyday cleaning we recommend only ever using mild soapy lukewarm water to spot clean your carpet, tested on a small area first. The prompt removal of stains is necessary to maintain your rug's appearance. Spills should be cleaned immediately. Never rub a spill, instead blot any liquids with a dry absorbent white cloth. If your carpet is in need of a deeper clean due to spills, contact a professional rug cleaning service in your area that specialize in cleaning woolen rugs.
Fresh Air & Sunshine Treat
Occasionally hanging your rug outside and giving it a shake out in the sunshine and fresh air is great for giving your rug a freshen up. Allowing it some time in the sun naturally kills off any bacteria, smells or moisture that may have built up with every day use.
Furniture Markings
Be aware that some heavy furniture can mark and flatten the pile in rugs, causing irreversible damage. Some heavy or sharp edged furniture pieces, or constant moving of furniture, can pull the rug out of shape so it appears less square.
Professional Cleaning
Try to have your rug professionally cleaned once a year using a professional carpet/rug cleaner. Giving your rug a professional eco friendly anti-bacterial clean is advised to refresh the wool and extend the life of your rug. Professional cleaning should be carried out only by a reputable company, and they should avoid using any shampoos or cleaners with a spirit base.
Will my rug be exactly how it looks in the picture?
It should! We photograph all our rugs with natural light. Please allow for small differences in color depending on your phone/computer's monitor settings. Each rug is made entirely by hand so there will always be variations in pattern, color and exact size (up to 10 centimeter variation on either side) due to the organic nature of the materials but we strive to accurately capture the detail and color so you know what you are getting.
How long does a Berber rug shed?
Shedding is completely normal for a new Berber rug, especially those made from natural, undyed wool. Here’s a general timeline:
- First 2–6 weeks: Noticeable shedding as loose fibers from the weaving process are released.
- After 2–3 months: Shedding decreases significantly as the rug settles.
- By around 6 months: Shedding typically stops altogether.
This is a natural process and not a sign of poor quality. The fibers coming loose are simply excess material left over from production. Regular, gentle vacuuming (without a rotating brush) helps speed up the process and keeps your rug looking its best.
